spark plug broke off
94 s10 97,000 I was changing my spark plugs and the center plug on the passengers side busted flush off. After pulling my hair out I went to the auto parts store and bought an extractor bit num# 5. It actually worked. This site has been a help to me so I thought I would add a little. The spark plugs remove easier under the wheel well on the passengers side anyway.

Re: spark plug broke off
Just because the white insulator broke off doesn't mean you have to buy a specia tool to get the metal part out.
Just use the plug socket, it will still come out.

He said it broke off flush which means it broke off at the threads. You can't remove that portion because the hex portion is gone, he needed the extractor.

I had the same thing happen to my 2.2! Figured 20 minutes for four plugs, change the air filter and be in the house for dinner...... I tried the easy out, no good... had it towed to a local Pepboys. They used a #5 and after snapping the #5 (With the aide of a hugh pipe for torque, it was towed to a machine shop..... $1200.00 later my "Quick tune-up" was done!! Ouch! But the re-machined heads work great.

This lack of maturity only amplifies your ignorance. I'm a retired sailor and I can communicate a little better than a four letter word---- especially when YOU WERE WRONG!! Cobra was pointing out that you needed to read the entire string. Blaze-- thicken up the skin a little. Longevity at a site does not make one the master of the realm Lets keep this site a place to exchange ideas and not gutter behavior. It is a great place to exchange knowledge and help each other out. Lets keep it that way. Just a "newbie" putting in his 2 cents. |

Seeing the 100 or so threads I am actively involved in, I am sorry that I don't reread every single word in all of them. Hey, if you don't like my advice, that's ok, there is plenty that will. Oh and the master of the realm thing, how about you grow up. Do you have some sort of weird inferiority complex? Do I rant on about how many posts I have? No!!!! So how about you grow up and help instead of backing an asshole.

Re: spark plug broke off
Hahahah! God, you are a joke, do you really think I care when you last posted? Not a bit!
Yea, I post daily or almost daily, why is there something wrong with that? I don't think so..... You are just a loud mouthed blow hard that does fuck all and somehow has the time to trash my posts, but oddly enough has barely enough time to post any help or content yourself. Do this, leave me alone and help the people in this forum..... WHAT AN IDEA!!!!!

appearently you do, you took the time to lie about it, and when the truth is posted, you come back with more insults, name calling, etc. in an attempt to draw attention away from the truth. Quote:
