Exhaust Question
I am in the market for an exhaust for my 2001 Sedan SE. I was lookuing at Flowmaster and MagnaFlow. Now heres the question, An Flowmaster Wxhaus system is 289 dollars and the magnaflow was 389. What are the preformance/sound difference betwixed the two. is the magna flow that much better that it is worth that much more. please help thatnk you

I'd go with the Magnaflow, for two reasons; the Magnaflow has slightly more power, but it is also stainless steel, while the Flowmaster is aluminized steel or something like that...Maganaflow would last longer, especially if corrosion is a concern for you like it is for me. From what I've read, the Magnaflow produces the best flow results compared to stock from any other exhaust.

Re: Exhaust Question
i would go with flowmaster because over all they sound better and ive heard they give you more power esspecially if you live somewhere where you dont have to have a catalytic converter. and i know a few ppl with flowmaster exhaust systems and they drive in the winter(sadly) but when winters over its like winter never came so corrosion isnt a problem with them

Re: Exhaust Question
Hmmm...you could also go with a Borla, which a more expensive then the Magnaflow, and makes around the same power boost. The only difference is the sound (it's also stainless) Another one for consideration is one from http://www.focussport.com , they give you the option of a resonator if you want less sound, but it still puts out the same power.

Re: Exhaust Question
Bottom line is that Flowmaster might sound nice, but it has too many baffles in the muffler. It restricts air flow while Borla and Magnaflow allow more due to less baffles. Or you could go with HKS Hi-Power series.

Re: Exhaust Question
Hey, the best looking exhuast ive seen for the focus is the Focus Sport ceramic coated exhaust, ive had it for 7 months, since it is ceramic coated it doesnt rust, its got awesome power gains and sounds great. Borla is ugly, flowmaster is ugly, magna flow is great but its stainless steel, i would never buy a stainless steel, all the ones ive seen discolor! Focus Sport had onsite dynos unlike Borla and flowmaster, they give u expected whp gains.
