Timing questions

The vehicle is a 95 Passport with the 3.2 V6. I just rebuilt the bottom end and its all back together, but I can't get the timing right. The problem is that the crank pulley is STUCK on the crank so I can't see the exact placement of the marks to align everything. If someone could help me by taking off their cam covers and letting me know where the marks are on those in relation to the crank pulley I would GREATLY APPRECIATE it. Any help to [email protected]. cam gears have a green paint mark in a groove one on each and there is a green paint mark on the crank gear
timing belt has two solid lines one dotted line dotted line goes on crank solid lines go on cam sprockets very very easy install

It would be easy if I could get the crank pulley off to match up the lines, but I CANT. I cannot get the lower cover off so I cannot match up the dotted line on the belt to the line on the crank pulley.

i GUESS IF YOU CANT GET THE PULLEY OFF THEN IT DONT REALLY MATTER WHERE THE TIMING MARKS ARE
THE ONLY OPTION IS TO REMOVE THE PULLEY THEY CAN BE A BIT STUBBORN USUALLY RUST
SPRAY IT DOWN WITH RUST PENATRANT IF YOU DONT HAVE ANY POUR SOME BRAKE FLUID ON IT LET IT SIT OVERNIGHT TRY LIGHTLY TAPPING ON IT WITH A HAMMER WHILE PULLING ON IT

Are you having trouble getting the bolt off that holds the crank pulley on? Or did you get that off and are just having trouble removing the pulley itself?

If the problem is the bolt....spray it down with penetrant and let it sit for a while...then get ahold of an impact wrench and a decent powered air compressor and have at it. You'll probably need an impact wrench with at least 300+ ft.lbs. of torque to crack that sucker loose. I think you can also get it off if you have something large enough to hold the pulley while you use a breaker bar if you have someone to help you.

If the problem is just the pulley...then just follow 2eyefishclaw's advice.

I appreciate everyones input, but its the pulley that won't come off, not the bolt. I've tried everything imaginable to get it off, but it won't budge. I just need someone that has their cam covers off to help me so I can find out where everything is lined up.

you cant just line up the marks on the cam gears you also have to have it right on the crank

Yup, all 3 marks have to be perfect or you run the risk of damaging your engine. You need to get that pulley off so you can see the mark on the crank sproket and line it up with the mark on the oil pump.

Because of the woodruff key the crank pulley can only go on one way so I can use that as a reference and use the marks that are on the cam gears. If the crank pulley could just go on any old way then what you are saying would be true, but it can't.
