Looking to buy a 2003 but worried about a tick

I've been looking to buy a new car. And have been looking at the 2003 Camry LE. I really like the look and like the feel of the vehicle.

But my question comes from researching information here on the website. I found a post about ticking in the engine that shouldn't be there. I am looking a 2 Camry's in Wisconsin. I can't be there physically to look at them but my parents are looking for me. My father noticed the ticking on one of the camry's, so we took it back to listen on the other one. The same ticking was there but didin't show up until it warmed up and was much less pronounced.

I'm wondering if this is just an anomally of the engine or if there could be a serious problem. I can't believe that 2 different cars would have the same problem when the car seems to have such an extremely long running history of reliability.

The one I'm looking at is selling for 14,600 (tax, title, and everything) and has 43k on it. THe other is selling for 14,600, and has 33k on it but the tax, title, etc... is extra. The more expensive one with less miles being the one with the quieter tick.

Could anyone advise?

Thanks
