throttle....

I have an 88 Cherokee, 4.0L, and sometimes the throttle will stick. I'll stop at a light or something and it will be reving at 1.5 grand. but if I put it in neutral then it goes up to 2.5 grand! Do ya think it might just be the butterfly sticking?
Thanks!

pull the cables off the throttle body and work by hand see if it skicks, most likley it is the cable though, with some effort you can probley clean it, but replace it if you can
