Was this guy at Meineke BullShitting me??

I have a 1992 GS... I'm looking for a catback system for my car. i spoke with some guy at Meineke about get an exhaust custom made.. Now i was told that the less bends your exhaust has the deeper the sound will be and i'll get more use out of it... he said it doesn't matter how many bends your exhaust system has. it'll still sound the same...He also told me that 2.5 inch pipe is no different from a 3 inch pipe... I thought a 3 inch would be more effective... I'm buying a custom exhaust header and Catalyic Converter if i can find one.. Will a 3 inch pipe be too much for a NON TURBO.... i don't wanna lose any power from my car.... Its a NT but it's pretty fast in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gear....

^^^ OK, Post Whore... Can you stop posting a hundred times...
It's really annoying.

Ok... I can give you a basic answer to this. Back pressure is the pressure that is created from your exhaust. The smaller the exhaust is the more pressure it makes. N/T benefits more from back pressure. Turbo benefits more from less back pressure.

This has been discussed in a bunch of previous posts in more detail.

3 inch is too big
the number of bends doesn't affect sound as long as the bends are constant diameter bends.
