My 4.8L 1500 has stalled a couple of times. I was wondering if there's any way to get an error off of the computer without access to a scanner.
With my old 1996 Ram 1500, you could get codes from the computer by turning the ignition back and forth a few times and counting the number of times a particular light on the dash flashed. Sounds dumb, but it worked. When it's stalled, there's not been any indication of anything wrong (near as I can tell). It simply cuts out. Thanks. |

I'm pretty sure you can take it to Autozone and they will tell you what the code is and clear it. If not, it will clear on it own. I think it's gonna take 40 engine cycles(not sure about the number). Startup, warmup, shutdown and cool off, and startup again is 1 cycle.
