I would just break down and buy a nice AEM or Steeda ram air intake. These are tuned, length wise, pipe diameter wise, and shape wise to get the most hp gain. You could make your own, but you wouldn't get hp gains like you would with a manufactured intake.
That being said, if you're still intent on making your own, I've seen some creative work with PVC pipe and a filter thrown on the end. You would also have to make provisions for the MAF sensor, which is an odd shape, and would be difficult to fit flush onto the pipe. Any more questions, just ask.

wow ppl these days sure are trying to get ghetto on everybody....like an old post where a guy was gonna make a blower out of a leaf blower and tubing...just go with manufacterd ones they look nice give you the hp your looking for give you better gas mileage and will most likly work longer than your pvc contraption lol...now dont get me wrong im not trying to degrade you or tell you what you can or cant do...im just trying to tell you the easier...and possibly cheaper way

its not worth trying to make your own because if you mess it up it will slow you down I bough a cheap one and it gets air from the engine compartment the hot slowed me down its definetly worth the money to buy a true cold air intake.
