Arrow looking for some advice

ok this is whats going on...some Asshole T boned my 91 Celica GTS ...and im getting some money back from the insurance...$2900 to get it fixed...still have the car...(car with out rims is only worth $2500 so im banking on this)(there giving me $400 for one fucked up rim. which is fixable)...im going to be taking my 18" wheel and tires off and putting the stockers back on the car. The money i get for my wheels and tires im putting into my 240...so roughly $800 or so. whats a good path...im thinking two ways...#1 suspension...get front and rear sway bars and strut braces (i think theres to much sway in my car). or #2 Power...get a boost controller (probably greddy profec B) and an Air/fuel controller (probably the apexi S-AFC)...anyone else see anything else i could do or better products the what i've picked...as you can see by what i have already i dont need any cooling...only other option i see is possibly a LSD...what would be a good one to get?

Re: looking for some advice

LSD or power. I'm not much for road courses or Autox. Maybe a turbo upgrade?

Re: looking for some advice

well...did some number matching on my SR20 and found out its a redtop...(if you've been following previous posts, i originally was told its a black top with a red top cover...found out its not...so it has the T25 turbo...what would be a good turbo upgrade? I know i can probably get a good used T28..which is the same flange right? for pretty cheap probably...but then if i did that i would want a boost controller and the S-AFC anyways...so maybe i'll wait on the turbo upgrade till spring

Re: looking for some advice

Also i live in South Dakota right near the black hills. so i have alot of bendies around me...not just that i also have a 87 formula firebird with the WS6 package (really still suspension, no sway at all) so im kinda use to that...really nice car to drift in...the 240 with all the sway makes it alot more difficult to drift in...(for me personally) maybe its a setup thing...i like no sway.

Re: looking for some advice

The blacktop has small lines on front of the head running vertically. The T28 would make slightly more power at lower boost. Your stock fuel setup should be good to about 240-250hp IIRC. Don't hold me to that. If no turbo, then a boost controller. Turn the boost up to about 14psi. Get a fuel pump too.

Re: looking for some advice

lol, I think you need a few more votes before you can make a good decision. Right now there are 2 votes for engine upgrades. 100% of the votes go to engine upgrades! Woohoo!

sway bars

cheapy strut tower bars off ebay

aluminum subframe spacers

Do luck cross bar(goes on floor behind front seats)

that should take up your 800 and stiffen up the chassis a shitload

OR

find a cheap deal on some coilovers... can be had for 800 lately look at other threads here

thats what I would probably do after reviewing your spring and strut combo more carefully, Eibachs aren't stiff and your shocks might be the weak cheaper models. In any event that would be better then adding sway bars and the like, if you had any money left over after you found a cheap seat of coilovers I would buy some cheap ebay strut tower bars next.

Re: looking for some advice

I believe the stock T25 loses efficiency past 14-15 psi. 12 sounds pretty safe so go with that.

Re: looking for some advice

there's 2 ways you can look at this.. don't even consider the lsd, as long as the one you have now isn't broken then you'll be fine.. 1) get the boost controller and safc, for me, i'd feel much more comfortable with them 2) get the stance right.. i know its already dropped but how stiff it is is another thing.. the d2 coilovers that were discussed in mynismo's thread for $800, not bad at all..

even with only 5 votes so far, i'll put my money on 90% of people going with engine mods

Re: looking for some advice

how much did your kazz 2 way cost you? now that you have it installed...would you now consider the 1.5 way?

Re: looking for some advice

http://heavythrottle.com/

JDM engine FAQ. "The engine should produce 230-250whp at safe boost," Just to let you know, 370cc injectors support approx 280whp.

Re: looking for some advice

i would say electronics for the safety issues...but it sounds like it runs ok without them. If you really want to stiffen up the ride, then stiffen it up. Do what sr20detpower said, unless you want coilovers. But that do-luck rxb bar or whatever its called also adds sexiness points..........but the lsd will help you grip better also around the turns, so i dont know its pretty much what you think will make you more happy as far as the results on if your money was well spent. Nice ride by the way.

Re: looking for some advice

thanks for the nice ride kudos...i was asking you guys because i need something to tip the scale...because im in a quandry...i love handling...i love power...and i love 2 wheels a blazin...basically im asking your opinions...to see what seems like a wiser choice...becuase the boost controller isnt a huge thing...but i seriously want the safc becuase i dont trust my turbo timers readings. but if i get the safc...i figure i might as well get the boost controller...and since AWDSR20 said that his understeered really bad because the shitty stock lsd...and mine understeers bad...maybe i should get the LSD...or suspension...so im trying to get ideas from u guys...asking this only helps make my decision more solid
