Re: which programmer is better ?
www.nelsonperformance.com They replace your entire pcm, instead of just program it. They can do a much better job programming than the hypertechs of the industry. Downside is that it costs approx $400.

programmer
it shouldnt take long to install the nelson tuned PCM.... it doesnt look hard either....
i was reading about the relearn process, seems frustrating... if the nelson tune is way better than any programmer.. then that explains itself.. it'll be a hassle because i'm gonna be putting bigger rims on soon, and i was thinkin about a supercharger, sending the pcm back and forth will be a job itself... but i really dont know anyone to help me decide... everyone i know either has older cars, or want to leave them stock |

Re: which programmer is better ?
Oh Crap!! Why didnt anyone tell me sooner how much the nelson tune costs? I just spent almost $400 bucks on a Hypertech III, and I feel confident when saying I think it is one of the worst pieces of crap I have ever layed my hands on. The 93 octane tuning feels no different than stock tuning, the shift firmness only works during low RPM's, at high RPM's the shifts are still soft and sloppy.

Re: which programmer is better ?
The Nelson tune, is infact a re-burned PCM that nelson flashes with his tune, plus GM's latest updates. All you do is remove the old PCM from under the hood, and install this one. It took me 20 minutes, and I didn't have to do the idle relearn, or anything. I just started it up and drove the hell out of it! Worth every cent I've spent on a mod so far. I would not hesitate to buy another one for a second.
The good thing also is that if you change anything,(rims, tires, etc) call nelson and he'll flash you a new PCM and send it to you. Free updates for life!!! You have virtually no downtime either b/c he sends you the new one, and you still get to keep the old one until it gets there, then you send the old one back once the new one is installed. I'm tellin ya man, its the only way to go.
