What is this part?
While checking sensors on my 2000 Suburban, i found a part just hanging by the wires under the front bumper. Some investigation proved that the part had come loose from a bracket in front of the radiator and behind the grill.
The part is stamped GM 15035786 i can't find it listed anywhere. Anybody got any ideas? |

Could possibly be Outside Air Temperature sensor.
Do you have a thermometer in the rear view mirror?

Re: What is this part?
I know that's where my outside (ambient) air temperature sensor is located. There is just a clip that connects it to the radiator support bar. If you take the sensor out and stick a little wire in the contacts to short it out your digital temperature readout should say "sc".

yea, it has the temperature readout in the mirror. Might be the sensor for that. seems that the high velocity of the air while moving would sure affect the readout.
I'll have to try out the shorting and see if it displays SC on the Tempertature readout. Thanks Oh, by the way....is the ambient temperature just run the mirror readout or is this information used for computer tuning and choke? |

Re: What is this part?
It's just for the mirror display. The mass airflow sensor on your air intake has the thermometer that the engine uses.
