Thumbs up Did a couple performance tests on my 94 SL

Because of a few unknown performance stats about the SL I decided to do a couple performance tests on my 94 SL...

- The first test was cornering. With the vehicle traveling at 65 MPH, I took an 80 degree turn. The front end slid for a slight moment, but then the back end broke loose (again just for a slight moment) and all tires gripped at the exact moment the car was straight. So for comparison sake, my 92 Integra had no slip on that turn at 65 MPH, but the slip of the SL was negligible.

- The second test was 0-60 MPH. From a dead stop I accelerated to 60 MPH with a couple chirps of the tires (so could be better), in under 6 seconds. I have yet to buy a stopwatch and have it timed by someone else for the EXACT time, but it is appoximately mid 5 to low 6 seconds.

Keep in mind the car has 93,000 miles on it and a 5-speed transmission.

Just thought i'd put my reckless driving to good use for once.

Re: Did a couple performance tests on my 94 SL

No mods, just swapped the tranny in there...I was told there is a Borla Catback on it when I bought it, but I can't tell from looking at it if the guy was just BS'ing me or not. Anyone know if the Borla says Borla on it anywhere?

Jack up the rear end and start looking. It should say it on the mufflers. Look at 3sxperformance.com's pic of the system to know where the name is branded on it.

Re: Did a couple performance tests on my 94 SL

Thanks. From neutral I usually hold RPM between 3-4, and then let out the clutch smoothly but fast, and from there I always shift just before redline @ 6900 or so when i'm racing.

Well over 6000 it feels like you're losing power and you are, but the higher you rev, the higher RPM you'll be at for the next gear so closer to your max HP (and it takes what .5 seconds between 6k and redline?), so it's faster the higher RPM you hit. I don't like hitting redline, just b/c my car isn't fast, it's quick, but not worth risking breaking or wearing the internals for. Once I get a fast car, and i'm racing for some cash, then i'll be goin all out.
