Skyline+showcar=Daijoubu/Stagea+showcar=???

Skyline as a show car. I have limited knowledge but from what i understand you have limited yearly milage (2500 i think).

Do modifications have to be made to the car at all?
Does this make it okay to bring in 4 doors?
and if so... what about a stagea or any other car for that matter (but i'm concerned about a stagea) can you just bring in a not state side produced car as a show car????

Yeah, I think that's how it works for show or race purposes. I'm not sure what you'd have to do for when you are driving it those few miles each year, though. For example, what if you get pulled over? It might be a registration thing.

You might want to check on that though. I've heard that the Military will not ship a car back for you for race or show purposes. Why? Because they are importing a car for you to drive to work.........not a toy. I've also heard that if you have a car in storage back in the states that the military will not let you import a car, because they've been footing the storage fees on your other car...........like I said, these are just things I've heard......I don't know for sure.

It has to be under a corporate registry. Corporate sponsorship is the only way to get it drivable in the states without a Motorex reaming.

Really...

I have a friend with a dealer's license and a couple different businesses. He's also a big car nut, owning a Diablo VT, Z06, Jaguar E-Type and XJ8(both for the missus), Henry J drag car, Barracuda 'vert with a Viper engine, and a repliCobra(sold). Occasionally he'll help friends look for a car at auctions.

In theory, if I get sponsorship from him, would that allow an imported car to be driveable? Or, since I've talked to him about getting a GT-R for himself, could he possibly get one and not have to worry about 'a Motorex reaming?' He probably wouldn't get a GT-R, but I've told him about TVRs, and he wants to learn more about them. The same rules would probably apply.

Re: Skyline+showcar=Daijoubu/Stagea+showcar=???

what the fuck. when I think show car I think a car that you keep in your garage and drive to weekend shows in your town in the summer. Not the fucking tokyo autosaloon or some indoor corperate sponsorship deal.... You know what I mean? When they say "show" car what do "they" mean? .... If I could get one of these nice rare (in the states) japanese cars to the US that's all I'd want to do with it. a few fairweather drives, some shows and a lot of garage time. This wouldn't be possible?

I don't think you need to have General motors register it or anything that grand. We are talking about a business license where a "business registers it. The mileage may vary from place to place but I think you get more than 2500 miles annually. I could be wrong....I was one other time. ( I bought a pencil with an eraser on it)
