if you can get a group together it will lower the price. Last time I dyno'd w/ a group it cost 50 for 3 pulls. It cost me 75-100 an hour for the dyno when i had my car tuned

Re: dyno

I would search for some shops that do alot of work on fbodies. Around here they seem to be the best shot at getting a good dyno. I good source for local dyno's would be your local GP club.

yamahaboy,

Thats exactly what they do. When tuning my car they made a baseline pull of 270, then they went back to thier laptops and made some changes and the next pull was 291 at the wheels

dyno is short for dynamometer. a dynamometer is a device for measuring forces, here on a car it would be the torque and horsepower

for more info

hehe sorry. 2nd year engineering student. the dynamometer simply measures the hp and torque. when tuners tune the car and work with the pcm (the cars computer). they can read the cars diagnostics when hooked up to their computer and then change the software to tweak it for more output, like ripn said. things like full air/fuel ratio tables and timing are improved. they can also change shift points, tranny line pressure, coolings fan setpoints and so on.
