Retard Timing runs lean or rich ?

Does retard the timing in any car cause the car to run lean or richer ?

as you advance the timing you will make better use of what fuel there is so as you retard the timing the motor will act like it is rich becouse it does not use the fuel as well ........ the mixture is controlled by the carb or fuel injection not the timing ..... but the motor will behave like it is rich or lean ...... also if a motor is running lean sometimes it will not take advance becouse it runs out of fuel ......
