Service Engine light
wow ok this thing is pissing me off, i asked this dude about it and he said it was just a factory setting that mitsubishi put on to come on at a certain number of miles so that the dealer could make some money. So i reset my computer by removing the negative terminal for like 45 minutes, i had to reset all my stereo settings, and then about a week later the freakin light came back on. does anybody know what causes the light and what i can do to turn it off permanently? thanx

Re: Service Engine light
go get it scanned. there is probably somthing going on inside ur car that ur not aware of. usually Auto Zone will scan for free. they can also turn it off.

Re: Service Engine light
even though that theory sounds like something mitsu would do, its incorrect. you could also try like jiffy lube and see if they can scan it and tell you the code. they can also clear it. dont know if it will cost you anything
