cat back noise
Hey im thinking about a greddy cat back for my accord 94 and i was wondering if you get the silencer does that make it much quietter. And is there anything else i can do to make it quietter. And if not does anybody know about any quiet catbacks they have on E BAY and only e bay unless you know of a site that sells them as cheap. Thanks.

Re: cat back noise
A silencer makes it much quietter. What my friend did is when he drove a short distance he would drive without the silencer and on long distances he drove with the silencer on. I works great to keep the sound from being too loud because the amount of air that comes out decreases. That's my personal belief.

Anybody know about how many decibels a stock exhaust system puts off compared to a aftermarket. And is 7 decibels a lot in terms of the noise.

Re: cat back noise
I think I've seen 7 decibles when I was looking at a Car and Driver Magazine. It was the stock sound of a RX-8 exhaust so it should be fairly quiet.
