Hi there,
What annoys me most about my Kia to date is the damn keyless entry system. My keypad is regulary loosing it's code requiring me to return my car to a KIA dealer to have it re-coded... This gets really annoying when they only way you can start your car is by entering a code with the accelerator (gas) pedal! Does anyone know if the keypads memory is cleared by pressing the buttons a certain number of times or something like that? Also... Is it possible to recode the pad without returning the car to the dealer using the key, the car, and the keypad? Thanks in advance |

Re: Keyless Entry System
This has been borrowed from another forum:
Programming Additional transmitters Kia Remote keyless Entry(RKE) Up to 4 remotes can be programmed to the KIA RKE 1) Open the driver’s door 2) Turn vehicle ignition to ON position 3) Locate the programming button. Note: The programing button is attatched to the Remote keyless Entry Harness next to the RKE module plug under the front centre console. Reach the button from the driver’s side. 4) Press and hold the programming button 10-15 seconds, horn will sound 3 times. Release button 5)Press(lock button) on the new remote transmitter. Horn will beep 1 time Repeat this step for any additional remote transmitters (up to four) 6) Turn vehicle ignition OFF. Test remote transmitter(s) for proper operation. I copied this out from the manual. Cheers Robert |

Just a little more Info...
Hi,
I was wondering if someone could be a little more specific about the location and look of the RKE module. I have spent tonight pulling my dash board apart and struggling to see much at all... Does the switch above the accelerator/gas pedal connect to the same module? (Use for entering the code to start it when the bloody keypad fails) cheers |
