help cv joints

Hello everyone.. I have my car (1999 Grand Prix GT) in the shop. The passenger inner cv joint when bad. The are having lots of trouble getting the part. They already try 4 different versions of the part and any fit. Anyone had that problem before. My car has a 3.8L engine. Thank for any input...

Re: help cv joints

have them replace the entire cv shaft assembly with a reman unit. less labor intensive and the remans have a warranty, usually lifetime. there is a stub shaft in the inner joint that may need to be removed from the old unit and put in the new, as most aftermarket joints and shafts do not include this stub shaft, which is only a few inches long and snaps into the inner joint. Your garage may not know it is a separate piece.
