won't start/fuel gauge zero
So my daughters 2002 sc2 would not start. cranked fine. Turned key on and gas gauge showed no fuel and she said she had 1/2 tank? Put some fuel in throttle body, nothing. Checked for 12vdc at coil, OK. Pulled plug, no spark. Ah, must be crankcase position sensor, replaced it, no change. Noticed some corosion around positive post of battery, took it off, cleaned it, and car started right up. Now gas gauge also shows 1/2 tank. So moral of story is, it might crank, but it doesn't mean you have voltage. P.S. CPS is a stinker to get out!!!

Why didn't you check the battery first?

Re: won't start/fuel gauge zero
because the engine was turning over, so I knew the battery had to be ok

Re: won't start/fuel gauge zero
yeah but you said there was corrosion on the positive terminal. Was it that hard to spot? I mean it must have sucked that you changed a sensor for nothing especially since you said it was a pain in the rear.

Re: won't start/fuel gauge zero
yeah, I know, but being an old fart I assumed too much, "if it cranks you got juice" thanks again and have a Happy Bird Day!
