Unhappy '94 won't turn over...HELP!

Just got this car on friday, started and stopped it several times. Went out this morning and tried to program the remote transmitter because the previous owner put in a new battery and it didn't work. Made several attempts to program, turning the key on (accessory) but never trying to start the car, pushing the various buttons to get the PKE to work, which I did. Had in a different key at times. It seems like a security thing that the car won't turn over, the lights do not dim or anything when turning the key. It is an automatic and I moved the shift lever down then back to make sure it was in park. I have ordered a service manual. Any information would be very helpful, I'm hoping its something simple or obvious that I am missing.....frustrated in Indiana
Well, thought about this for a couple of hours, figured I confused the computer with turning the key on and off and pushing buttons, so I unhooked the ground cable and put it back on to maybe reset it and it worked!

Re: '94 won't turn over...HELP!

sounds like you confused the vats system, it should reset after around 40 min, but you might have to run it for codes or have it looked at by the dealership to track down the problem.
