hmmmm

i am rolling in my beater 92 sl2 saturn at the moment(hand me down with 330,000 miiles on it) and my friend in cali has a civic ex with a b18 swap motor and i was sitting here thinking if a 3000 gt vr4 was to race a fatory b18 which would win would you have to swap the vr4 motor to something bigger? or would it be able to take it by itself cause i know the vr4 are all wheel drive twin turbo and soon i hoope to get a vr4 my dream car
thanks for all info given

Re: hmmmm

what are you on drugs dude? too much lsd? crack? heroin? what is it? what would make you even compare those two? forget the twin-turbo, the SL would take the b18b with ease, at least by 3-4 car lengths in the 1/4. I hope you're on drugs asking something like that, cuz you better not be that ignorant lol.

Re: hmmmm

oh yeah, and if you wanna doubt me...i had a b18 integra (150 HP, intake/exhaust) when i got my SL 3000GT (222 HP stock) and I raced them...and it was 3S by far. Now you add twin-turbos and the b18 wouldn't be visible in the rear view mirror of the 3S. And don't forget civic weighs more than integra so dont go there. i know i'm being a little rude and i apologize but damn man, get off the drugs.

Re: hmmmm

Technical...no need for hostility, he didn't know, so he asked. That is the point of the forum. You wouldn't want that kind of response to a question you asked.

Domestic...as to your original question, the 2 cars aren't even in the same league. The vr4 is a sports car, the civic is an economy coupe...the civic would get murdered.

Your 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 is the 92nd out of the 315 that were made that year. Only 21 of which are exactly identical.

my friends BPU VR-4, raced a turbocharged honda with a b-18 swap, he put like 10 cars on him by the end of the 1/4 mile. They're not in the same league.

and, uhmm, you dont do engine swaps on vr-4s. A few people have swapped in a montero block for those who want to go extreme. People do turbo swaps, a.k.a turbos with bigger compressor wheels.

Re: hmmmm

ok well i did not know that much about the vr4s but i was wondering cause it sounds like it is an over kill but like doing 60 or 70 on a roll then launching could it still take it off the start or what i have not seen his car yet but from what he told me he got the motor from an impound lot or something like that so it is hella moded and he told me he added a carbon fiber body so it is alot lighter then that but i dont know so i was just asking for input would you think honda drivers would call it different
no i am not on drugs lol
but thanks for the input

Ahh rules number 1 and 2 But I never get to flame, what the H man. hehe

From any roll the VR4 would take the civ, unless the civ is turboed and nitro'ed..and even then it has little chance against a stock VR4.

screw high-end torque, we dont need vtec cause horsepower takes over top end. The AWD does tend to kill the top end a little bit, but you'd still be surprised.

BPU is basic performance upgrades. Basically he threw on a $20 intake, an $18 manual boost controller, and gutted his precats for free, and is running 12's in the quarter mile.
