Fan not blowing correctly.
i need help locating a part, and its name so i can get a new one to replace it.
My ac/heat fan does not work on settings 1 or 2. but 3, 4, 5 all work. i think its a fuse or something like that. ive heard this happening on other gm cars, i think its fairly common. could soemone please tell me if this is a fuse or soemthing else, like a switch or what...if i recall, it may be like an $18 special fuse thingie, i dont know. any help would be appreciated. |

This is common, it's the blower motor resistor. I have no idea where it's located but i'm sure someone will eventually post on it's location and replacement. Mine did the same thing and I took it to the dealership and it seemed like a simple fix. It costed me about 70 bucks to have it all replaced. I will tired of it either being hot or cold in the car...lol gets annoying.
let me know, mike |

I don't know what year you have, but on my El Camino I had similar problems. I found it was the connections at the fan motor. If I remember correctly, there was a four-prong female connector there. I removed the connector and thoroughly cleaned the prongs. Then I coated everything with dielectric grease. Works like a champ.
