I have a '03 2.4L Caravan with 24,000 miles. A couple of weeks ago the engine light came on while driving. I didn't notice any change in engine performance. I drove it like that for a few days then took it to the dealer. When the dealer gave me the service invoice slip it stated: "Small evap leak. Hooked up DRB. Ran System Test. Tightened Gas Cap. Ran test. Passed". I thought okay maybe I didn't tighten the cap right. Drove the van without the engine light on for about a week then it happened again. The light came on with no change in engine performance. It's back at the dealership and they tell me the DRB test comes up with the same results. They are going to keep the van a few more days to see if something else is causing the light to turn on. Has anyone experienced the same problem? Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.

I had the same problem with my 2001 grand caravan and it was a crack in my gas spout. I could see the crack after I took a good look at it behind the cap. Looked like some one pried on the fuel nozel while filling it up, or tripped over the hose and yanked on it. I fixed mine with krazy glue.
I too took it to the dealer twice. There is alot of things it could be. But if you have warenty , bug the crap out of them. I love my van |
