93 camry power windows dont work
Hi, I just stumbled across this forum and have been reading it all morning. I am hoping someone can help me.
I just bought a 1993 Camry, it's not in my possesion yet but the passenger side front window and driver side back window wont work. I tried the master switch on drivers side and nothing. I learned that I may need a couple of window regulators and motors but there is my problem. How do i know if i need the motor with the regulator and once i buy them, can i put them on or should i have a professional do this? Any help will be appreciated and I will be coming back here to read some more. Thanks in advance Venus |

I replaced the regulator on the rear window of my 93 Camry and it was real easy. The hardest part is prying the plastic trim off of the door handle. I went to a salvage and picked up the regulator and the hardware that is attached to it.
Before you get one you should determine if it is the motor or the electric to it. If you can hear it hum or if it moves a little bit then the regulator is bad. If nothing is happening then get a 12 volt dc meter and have someone push the switch and see if it shows voltage at the plug to the regulator. If there's no voltage then the wiring may have pulled loose from the front switch, the switches are bad, etc. |

I had the drivers door go on my 93 the cable broke. You can buy the regulators at the dealer and reuse the motor if its still good mine was $100 cdn. Ive went trough getting at the wreckers but if you plan on keeping the car get the dealer replacement. they have made updates to the part and they are much more reliable now than the origional. as WRG stated if you can get the handle trim of you can do the rest.
