Help with Transmission type 73/74

Hi, can any one help me out with the transmission type of a continental of '73'74 ?
I've 2 transmissions and they show a number on the housing. One came out of a '74 continental. (The S95 or is it 595)?
The other one, don't know where it came from reads S-96-A (or 5-96-A)
I always read C5 or C6 for ford tranny
Where are these types from?
