Inside of body panels

Hi, just a noob question.

Regarding the painting of the inside of body panels matt or semi gloss black, do you guys paint it before you finish painting the outside of the body first or vice versa?

eg. for a red body panel - grey primer (in and out) -> white primer (out and maybe inside as well) -> how ever many coats of red then polish etc -> mask the outside carefully -> matt or semigloss black inside

The only problem I have with doing it this way is that it is quite difficult to mask the shiny paint on the outside. There is always the possiblity of black oversprayed where masking overlaps on the edge.

Any advice on what you guys do would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Well, I paint the inside of the body carefully with a black Tamiya Marker. If you're really careful you don't have to worry about black paint on the outside.

I do it after i painted the body, so if i am not careful enough and there is a little bit black paint on the outside it can be easily rubbed of with some rubbing compound.

Both schools applies, it's up to you what works best to your standards. I usually paint it afterwards, but in some cases it's better to do it first thing. If you do the outside with laquers and the inside with acrylic or enamel you could easily wipe away overspray with a damp cloth (appropriate thinner used) or polish it away with some compound a soft cloth.

i completly mask the outer body, and hit it with a spray matt black

I always paint the insides the same colour as the outside unless the instructions specifically tell me otherwise, can't understand why anyone would do anything else to be honest, waste of paint and modeling time.
