My d4 blinked also for a short time after i did a motor swap. It was a little sensor directly below the distributor and above the starter that was cracked. I pushed that back in and it quit doing it.

With that many problems, I suggest you take your car in for a regular tune-up and ask for a price quote and ask him what's wrong witht the car. When he tells you, take his suggestions and figure out how to fix it. He probably wont tell you how to fix it because that way, he wont be making any profit.

When you changed the alternator you did get a new belt correct??? It might be a worn out belt that just keeps slipping, even with a new belt it might be slipping in which you should check to see if the belt is tight enough and put a little belt dressing on there to get it gripping. That's what happened to me when I changed my alternator my belt wasn't tight enough and it just kept on slipping, which caused the battery light to come on. I tightened it up, and it was all set.
