HID Lights

Ok...I bought some headlight bulbs (for the Prelude) from Best Buy...yea yea yea...it was an impulse...17 bucks, hell why not. However, surprise surprise, they don't fit quite right. They'll work If you get it in there JUUUUUUUUUST right or flick it, but it won't stay on. So they're going back tomorrow. Oh well...by the way, they're made by a company called "Redline"...don't bother with them, guys.

What I would like to ask is if anyone here could recommend a good pair/set of bulbs. These actually looked pretty good and were BRIGHT AS FUCK (when they were on) but that all proved pretty irrelevant. I'd like a true HID bulb (xenon) and I don't want any cheap shit (inexpensive, yes...cheap, no), even though I took a chance on these.

Oh yea...word to the wise...the bulb gets EXTREMELY FUCKING HOT IN NO TIME AT ALL!! We're talkin 5 seconds...tops...has to get damn near 1000 deg. Burned my thumb bad. Never good to hear your flesh sizzle...

Sylvania Silverstars are your best bet.

PIAA also makes a good one, but I forgot what it was called, "Plasma something".

Re: HID Lights

I stumbled across those Sylvania bulbs while searching online but didn't see anwhere where they had them for the 5th gen ('01 if it makes a diff). I even saw them available for a bunch of different cars at Autozone today and asked if they carried them for the Prelude and they said they're not even available for that car.

I'll do some more digging. Thanks man.

Unfortunately, (and no offense to anyone) the people who work at autozone are usually retarded douchebags. Don't ask them for bulbs for your car model because they'll usually spend 10 minutes fumbling around on the computer tracking down what you need. I know for a fact Silverstars fit on 5th gen ludes. Just ask them if they have them in H1's and you should be set.

Re: HID Lights

oh yea, your talking about the HID "like" lights right and not the actual HID conversion kit? if your talking about real HID's then don't listen to my last post.

Re: HID Lights

I know the guys are kinda retarded. That's why I don't take them completely to heart. I was in a hurry and didn't have time to bicker with them.

I found everything I need...I went to Sylvania's site...found that they DO make these in H1s. Then I went to ebay and found a pair on there. I also found some local retailers that I'm going to check out tomorrow.

Thanks for the info, guys.
