can some help me please

okay I have a 96 chevy suburban 5.7 vortec only had the vehicle for 2 weeks and having problems already. okay this is what happen and what I have done already. wife went to the doctors office came back out and tried to start up the truck but nothing was turning over but not firing so she called AAA and the man said the fuel pump.. So tested everything form relay to pressure by pressing the pressure line and nothing no fuel so replaced the fuel pump, fule filter, screen, fuel pump relay.. Well think the problem was solved I tried to fire it up and nothing so I sprayed carb cleaner in the manifold and yup it tried but failed and the I dropped the take again and took out the pump and tested it and it's work test it with a battery charger and it works so I installed it back in the tank and connected the electrical connections and ground and fired it up to see if any fuel would spit out and nothing so I narrowed the problem to the wiring.. Now this is where I'm stuck the gray wire runs to the relay in the engine compart., have you any suggestions on what I can do because I'm going to try this next by stripping alittle wire away from the gray wire and test the pump by using other wire to like the fuse box or directly to the battery and turn the key on and see if that will run the pump. if it does then either the PCW is bad or broken wire.. can someone please hellp in this matter because wife is getting very mad she thinks we were well you know better not say.. PLEASE HELP my e-mail address is [email protected] please help

Thank you
Andy

Re: can some help me please

There should be a red wire with a spade connector taped to or hanging froma harness between the under hood fuse/relay center and the firewall that you can put 12v to to test the fuel pump wiring(fuel prime connector). You should probably try this with ignition switch off or after ignition switch has been on for over 4 seconds. The grey wire does have a splice in it for a 12v backup feed fromthe oil pressure sending unit and there have been some problems with fried wiring in the fuel sending unit(piece that sets in tank that fuel pump is connected to)
