Re: glow plug light is blinking

I believe that is an indicator to drain the water seperator in the fuel filter.

If your glow plug light is blinking this usually indicates a brake light is out or the brake light switch is faulty - The brake light switch was recalled so be sure to verify its operation

I believe the drain valve is on the bottom. It used to be a large white knob that you would turn to open, I can't remember if that kept up to your year. If not post back & I'll look it up.

If you check your owners manual it explains how to drain the water separator in detail. There should be a bag that connects to the separator in your trunk in case you have to drain it in an emergency.
Attached to the underside your car on the passenger side just forward of the rear tire is a white plastic box that has a valve handle. put a pan beneath it and open the valve. When fuel comes out stop. Keep your face (eyes) clear!

Re: glow plug light is blinking

I'm pretty sure they dropped the water seperator under the car with the A3 models.
