Car problems

My 1999 expedition has been giving problems for the last few days. It has almost 100k miles. The engine size is 5.4L. One day it will work fine then the next it will start and turn off if I take my foot off the gas. This morning it wouldn’t stay on and this afternoon it seems to be working ok. There are no check engine lights on. I am hoping someone can help me.
