Wheel speed sensor, how do i clean it?

How do i clean the wheel speed sensors? I am weary of sanding them because they are magnets, and i've never really dealt with magnets before. WD-40? electrical contact cleaner? water and towel?

Thanks

speed sensors usually last a long time, no to often they break down. Word of advice, goto a wrecking yard and see if you can get one for a few bucks before getting one at the dealer. Odds are the one at the wrecking yard should last you.

on my 96 winstar, you can remove rear sensors by unbolting and removing from backing plate, no need to remove brake drum, I would shoot some compress air in to clean teeth on ring. It's really best to remove drum and clean, that's how I got rid of my ABS light. no sanding, just wipe off

I have always believed that Brake dust should never be blown with compressed air due to the fact that breathing the particles is a bad idea.
