Alternator remove

I need to change my altenator but can not remove it from the engine compartment. Please help.

Do you have tools ?
Do you know how to use tools?
Start by disconnecting the battery!
You will need a 12mm socket and rachet for the alternator. Remove the 3 bolts, 2 on top and 1 on the bottom disconnect the wires and lift it out

I can Get the altenator off the brackets but not out of the car. I have AC and the lines are in the way.

I don't have a/c and I don't know how your lines run.
You should be able to loosen the line and compressor enough
to silp it out. If you do need to relieve the feron you really should get it recovered....r-12 is nasty for the enviroment.

The actual damage done to the environment is WAY overblown, but the law says not to release it, so do not.

A area mechanic was fined 400,000 bucks and spent time in jail for doing just that!

But, yes, loosening the compressor from it's brackets is the key and leave them lines alone!

I was able to fix the problem without removing from car . I have the R134a type so it is better than the old stuff.
