PCV valve location 1997 Civic Ex
I am going through the process of elimination to fix my idling problem and the first thing I am going to replace is the PCV valve on my 1997 Civic EX 2dr. Where is the stupid valve? I looked all over and I think from what I have researched it is under the intake manifold above my oil filter in the harded to get place. Is this right? I have a D16y8 engine and manifold. A little help would be appreciated.

Re: PCV valve location 1997 Civic Ex
i pm'd this to u, but i'll post it here too for anyone else that might be looking.
follow the vacuum hoses off of the intake manifold. it should be one of the two hoses that r on the front-driver's side of the intake manifold plunem. if it isn't either one of those then try off the back of the manifold. it should be w/in a foot of the manifold, but i can't promise it. the PCV valve is about an inch tall and maybe 3/4 inch wide. it's plastic and looks like a joint between two vacuum hoses. the other vacuum hose runs off the bottom of the valve down to the black box on the back of u'r motor. so if u can just follow the hose up from that box, it'll take u right to the PCV valve. like next time u'r under ur car to change the oil. it's up and to the passenger side of the oil filter. on an 88-95, it's on the intake manifold between runners 3 and 4. |
