Need help from you guys FAST!

Hey .. I've got a leak in my fuel line under the car.
Now what I need to know is if I can use rubber hose to patch the leak. I've heard that under the car you have to have steel fuel lines for it to pass a safety. Can someone please tell me.
thanks

you can use rubber and some hose clamps, but I would only do it temporarily until you get real lines.

That'll be a quick fix till you can properly repair it. The gas will corrode the rubber.

Re: Need help from you guys FAST!

DO NOT USE REGULAR FUEL LINE. Your info shows you have a 94 Cavi. This is a fuel injected car which run in excess of 40 psi in the fuel system. Regular fuel line is only rated for 7 psi. Make sure to get hose rated for a fuel injection system and then this is a permant repair. Just as safe as the RUBBER section that comes from the factory that connects to the engine.

As for Gas corroding the rubber??? Where did anyone hear that? What is that hose at the gas pump made of ? Not to mention the section on the end of your factory metal lines that connect to the motor. Was there some question that he/she might use aquarium tubing or something?

yeah, i agree with public, you can get 100psi fuel hose for cheap, double clamp it, make sure theres no kinks or moving parts & it will probably last as long as the metal lines
