distributor swap!

Is there a way to change from the stock side-output rotor to the top post rotor? I have 90deg mount ignition plugs that are incompatible with my stock 96 jimmy horizontal-rotor cap. Can I just buy a different rotor and cap, or do I need a whole new distributor?

Re: distributor swap!

What, are you talking about plug wires?

No, you cannot switch them, two different computers.

Top mount = OBDI
Side Mount = OBDII

Re: distributor swap!

I'm sorry about the confusion. I was looking for a rotor cap with the contacts on top, not out the sides. I guess this was just stupid.

Re: distributor swap!

No, you can't do that.

Replace with a new rotor cap with the side posts.

You cannot swap or change it with a top mount.
