dohc vs sohc

what is the difference in drag track between 1.6 16v Sohc crx from USA and 1.6 16v Dohc crx from europe.both stock and have 108 hp for sohc and 124 hp for dohc.or even not in drag track,for example in street.has anyone tried the difference between them?

you talking about D16 SOHC non vtec and the ZC DOHC ?? If so the ZC DOHC will take the sohc.

well if both motors in the same shape and running in same type of car. I would think the ZC would take the d16 b/c of the tourqe and HP

actually i think i had my mini-me then...d15b2 block z6 head... i can't remember though.

my d15b2 had the si cam in it-it was pretty peppy for what it was.



shit with my full 2 12" subs and 16" chrome wheels and just my old d15b2 in my rex-a 96 or 97 teg only beat me by like a car...

yeah,its sohc not vtec and dohc ZC.has anyone tried that with stock motors? how big difference will that be in 1/4 mile? 0.5 sec?

my homie has an 88 rex with a D15B with basic boltons and he ripped up a zc civic w/ intake and exh. yep aperantly my hommie was a better driver but beat someone that bad and i saw it with my own eyes. whats the specs on sohc D15B cuz it cant be better than a DOHC ZC or is it.

you should get a JDM ZC black top, they pull 135, if you won against a ZC with an HF he wasnt racing, or his engine isnt making compression. go to www.thezcr.com for info on ZCs. i have a ZC, it pulls better with a dead hole than my ew3. you are going to have to get some extra parts with that ZC though

I've never had a civic with a d15 or d16 even keep up with me in my DOHC ZC 88 CRX DX, of course, I havn't had my car very long so I havn't really gone up against many.

Only time I've lost against another civic was a CRX with a really, really fat guy in it. He must have had a b16 because he barely pulled on me. Poor guy was just too big for that little car.

Is it the JDM D15B VTEC? or the USDM D15B2?

The JDM D15B VTEC has like 130hp like the ZC.




I donno man, I know I drove a DX CRX and that shit was slow. I donno why mine was so quick. I had an Si ECU, cam, header and full exhaust, no cat-and Si tranny. It's an HF body so it's a little lighter. I donno. It was pretty quick for what it was though.

i have a friend with a 90 hatch with a sohc si with a headman header iceman cold air magnaflow muffler plug wires and plugs and a short throw with the si computer and he beats a 4 door with a zc, intake, and muffler and he is running the zc computer. The other 4 door in town has a zc with a dc sports header magnaflow muffler, hi flow cat, cold air, and an auto tranny running the zc computer keeps up and sometimes beats him
