That question is hard to answer because it's broad. Different companies make different things very well. For example, Alpine makes some nice headunits, but in now way are their subs or amps equivalent. There's a lot of different companies(some more known then others, but regardless of mainstream or not) that make different products very well. I guess it all depends what exactly you're looking for.

SR20, have you or do you know someone who has had experence with the Tempest. ive had experence with the shiva. id like to talk to someone who has owned or done an install with both to see if its worth the extra cash for the extra surface area.

Not personally, but there are a bunch of people on SIN and CAF with them and they all seem to love them. Never heard anything bad, except for the appearance of course

Re: What Is The Best Brand For Car Audio??
im looking at it for my room. Gsteg, wanna buy 2 audiobahn aw10's in a 3.2cuft enclosure tuned to 31Hz? or is it 32? i dont remember. low 30's. not providing the displacement i am loooking for.
edit: do the shiva and tempest use XBL^2? i cant find anywhere where it says they do though they do have video of a shiva with only 60w getting pretty good excursion. and in the one install i saw with 4 of them they each only had 290w and the owner could make them bottom out. if he turned the gains on the 2 amps up to give them 340w. so that seems like they do, that or they have very sensitive motors... |

Re: What Is The Best Brand For Car Audio??
the shiva and tempest do not use XBL^2.
they are quite efficient and thermally they could take up to 600w, but don't add more than 400w. They do not require much power to get moving, but 400w is the limit or else you'd be wasting power. i would buy your subs if i had money and if i need subs. lol.

Re: What Is The Best Brand For Car Audio??
I've installed 3 shiva systems and 5 tempest systems and I think the extra cash for the tempest is VERY well worth it. I know they are similiar drivers but Tempests are far superior IMO.
