i hate when gay stuff like this happens

Today was going to be my big day. For the past two months I've been trying to sell my buddy club front bumper for my car because i dont need it and i need money for suspension. so i finally found a buyer for the bumper and this person lives in cleveland, ohio. i live in allentown, pa. we decided to go and meet up halfway in between and we figured that snowshoe, pa was the best meeting point. its about a 200+ mile drive for me in one direction. i was so hyped up about it this whole week and i changed my oil and checked coolant and tire pressure and brakes and got 2 spares ready and was completely prepaired for the 6 hour round trip their and back. i was going to drive up there with my friend tommy in separate cars in case my car were to get stranded or something...he has a crx....so that way i would have help if something were to happen. well....tommy's mom wouldnt let him go and he had to work and i couldnt find anybody else to go with except for with my friend pat. so today after school i went over to pat's house, got ready and we left in our cars. he left in his 2003 passt and we got onto the highway and my mom and dad called my cell and flipped out and something happened about my dad being in an accident and they said that i left too late anyway and that i should turn back and go a different day. at this point, pat was ahead of me on the highway and then all of a sudden "thump, thump....." and then my engine just shut off on the highway so i pulled over with my flashers on and i was panicing so much cus i didnt know what happened. i try starting my car and it cranks and all and it starts up for a split second and then dies. so i get out and open my hood and use my cell phone as a flashlight in my engine cus i didnt have a flashlight and it was dark out, and i called pat and told him my car broke down and he was like "ok, i'll wait here" cus he had to get off an exit to turn around to go back. but he couldnt go off the exit and turn around cus i had money for him for the toll that he had to pay so he was stranded too cus he was broke. i looked in my engine bay and i called hybrid1990crx to get tips cus i'm still a newb when it comes to engine stuff since i only had my car for half a year. so i was like "ok, it might be my timing belt... it might have broken" i checked it and everything's fine, timing's fine too. so then i went and checked my rotor. so i went and took off my distributor cap and my rotor didnt have a screw to tigten it and it just fell off. so i went and took off a screw from my front bumper in the fender well and put it on as a temporary fix to get to my friend pat. 5 mins later i get to pat on a shoulder right before an exit and i call my friend matt to come and bring me a screw instead of a rotor because i called him before because i was thinking i needed a new rotor when i only needed a screw. matt showed up and i got everything fixed up and tightened and gave pat some money for the toll and then i left to go back home. on the way back home i had to put up with stupid queer ass drivers who like to go and cut people off and tailgate. so i tailgated this stupid idiot for a mile and i backed off cus i had enough. i also had to put up with tons of phone calls from my parents asking me where i was and why it was taking so long to get home and then after about 15 calls they finally understood that i had to tighten my rotor screw. i also told them i got stuck in traffic instead of telling them that i had to wait for my friend to bring me a new screw. goddamn. so much for a good day. i think i'm going to go eat some chinese food and get extremely fat right now. later.

Re: i hate when gay stuff like this happens

yay, I like clif notes... hehe accually I heard this story allready so I knew the ending...

Sucks man, I'v had some pretty shitty days myself... haha like the time I got my gremlin stuck assbackwards in the woods at the bottom of a hill and couldnt get any traction because of the tires then when I finally would get traction the car would die because its carborated and was on a really steep incline.... but thats a differnt story.

Re: i hate when gay stuff like this happens

That sucks ass, there's nothing worse than being all hyped up to do something, then get shut down. Hey at least it WASN'T your timing belt!

Like me, I spend like 3 days, take my head on and off like 3 times, finally get my mini-me swap done and not 2 days later, I was going like 10 miles an hour and my timing belt tensioner wigged out and bent all my valves on the new head I just payed $150 for + $50 for pressure checking. That........sucked.........

So is the car cool now? It was just the screw?

Re: i hate when gay stuff like this happens

Wow this is so weird, I have never heard of this problem till about 2 weeks ago my friends car did the same thing, the screw came out of the rotor and the shaft would spin free and not turn the rotor luckily I caught the screw before it fell out of the cap. Then this happends to you, its really weird.

Make sure you get some thread seal or jb weld or something to hold the screw inplace because after I put my friends screw back in and all it fell out a week later and I told him what the problem was to fix it.

Everyone has bad days, just learn to not get stressed out and you will be good.

Re: i hate when gay stuff like this happens

I knew it was that damn rotor! Cause when you said it wanted to kinda start right as you stopped cranking it, I thought that as the shaft slowed down, the rotor finally started to spin alittle, and that was causing it to try to fire. Glad I was able to help you out.

Re: i hate when gay stuff like this happens

thanks man, everything is all good now. everything runs fine.....i should have expected this tho. i read some thread on some other site about our cars and hitches and some guys hauling a prelude. if i remember correctly, they said that their rotor fell off and they ghetto-rigged it on to be able to make it back home. ahh, oh well. i have to learn one way or another from problems.

Re: i hate when gay stuff like this happens

yeh, least your engine or transmission wasnt all screwed up, then you'd have to get a new one and put it in and that can be a pain - plus you would have no car for a while

is that guy still gonna buy the bumper from ya?

Re: i hate when gay stuff like this happens

yea, i'm shipping the bumper to him probably on monday. i'll pay for some of the shipping and he'll pay for some. i figured that it would even out with the gas and toll costs. i also looked at the toll costs for going thru harrisburg, because i needed to go thru there to get to where i was going.....it was freaking 10 bux just to go thru harrisburg! and then another 10 bux to get out. how rediculous is that.
