Question cat converter

To my discovery my 98 s-10 2.2 cat has been punched out. Service engine light stays on and when i had the code pulled the guy at auto zone sayed it was in relation to the now non-existant converter. What changes in relation to the o2 sensor is this going to cause on my moter. I understand the legal aspect fortunetly this currently isn't an issue were I live. Aside from replacing the cat is there any solution to service engine light such as a o2 sensor simulater?? Any input is appreciated THX

Re: cat converter

go to jegs.com and look for an o2 sencor cheater, it sends the signal that the cat is working fine and the o2 level is correct

Yip, do that, or install a cat.
