yup... not to be a dick, but how many fingers do you have??????? just crawl under real quick and count the bolts that hold the rear cover on.

Re: 10 bolt

lol, count again, do you have 9 bolts???? its possible that someone may have swapped a 9 bolt rear into it throwing off the count a bit.

Re: 10 bolt

It's not possible that it's a 9 bolt because I have not replaced the rear end and my dad bought the car 13 years ago straight from the GM dealer

So I'm just gonna say I couldn't see the hidden top 2 bolts

Re: 10 bolt

So now that I have found that out.... Should I up the 10 bolt to a Moser 12? ( I don't think i have that much power with a 350 ci engine) or just keep the 10 blt and buy an eaton differential and a set of 3:73's?

Re: 10 bolt

yeah the moser would be overkill, remember the 12 bolt is stronger, but its alot heavier, costing hp in reciprocating mass, and slowing acceleration again due to weight. you can build a 10 bolt up pretty tough, get the eaton and 3.73 gears, then get a differential girdle. its a cast or billit cut differential cover with two screw down points that support the differential main caps to keep them in place. so long as the diff is setup right, it should handle that 350 just fine.
