how often should wheels be balanced?

I had all four balanced when I installed them a year ago, I have not had them balanced since so how often should I check that cause I am starting to feel the car shake and bump at like around 85 mph. cant tell if its the road bump, the motor mounts going bad or if its the tire balance. I know for sure its not a bent rims thought cause I already know how that feels and this is not it, its a gentle bump but anoying non the less.

I had four new tires put on and wheels balanced in the late summer, and the car has shaken ever since I've had it done. If it's a good shop, you should be able to go a long time in between, but a crappy shop like mine makes it so you need it done once a month.

Well I work for Americas Tire Co./Discount Tire Co and I would recomend balancing your tires and wheels every 5000mi. if you want your tires to last long. I just bought a 1992 VR4 and its awsome. Any questions regaurding tires and wheels just let me know.

Yeah get them balanced when you notice some shaking at high speeds, but make sure it's not just the tire pressure or tread wear b/c that will cause vibrations at high speeds too.
