Question Question About Pistons

OK, so pistons and rods are the last things on my list before i begin the re-building of my ZC. I don't know much about Pistons so I'm asking all the other motor heads for their thoughts. My goal with this build is to gain as much torque as possible without sacrificing any top end speed. This car is a daily driver so I'm not going to be going 100+mph everyday, but I want to have a nice kick when I punch the gas. So I'm asking which pistons would give me the best output for this? Also, keep in mind I'm still rockin' the automatic....

Re: Question About Pistons

have you checked the exospeed site?

http://www.exospeed.com/engine/Arias.htm

but $500 is hefty price for a couple of pistons. I could buy a whole engine for that price

All depends on what your planning to do with the motor. All motor would be better with high compression pistons. Forced induction is better (easier tuning) with low compression pistons. My ZC is getting 9.0:1 pression pistons cuz im going turbo. Stock is 10.5:1. Also, If you bore?hone it out .020 or so you will get a little bit more bottom end but might sacrifice high end. Forged are the strongest pistons, hyperutechic are pretty damn strong cast pistons and normal cast are the same as stock, nothing special...
