To ash tray, or not to ash tray.... That is the question

Well I started working on the console today, but I'v came upon a problem, I'm not going to be able to incorperate the ash tray into it, theres not going to be a way to securly mount it and have it slide properly.. or even look right. My question is (mainly to the people planning to buy a console from me when there finished) would you be fine not having the ash tray? The lighter will still be there but the ash tray isnt going to happen unless yall strongly want it. Most people flick the ashes out the window and store change in the ash tray anyway, but I wanted some opinions first. By the way, in the spot where the ash tray would have been, there will be a slot for your cell phone or sunglasses or something.

I dont smoke so not having an ash tray wouldnt faze me at all. in fact in leave that slot open to having options the the "purchaser" could have i.e. turbo timer... in that slot. just an idea

Re: To ash tray, or not to ash tray.... That is the question

yea ash tray is jus a hassle, if someone wants an ash tray they can get the ones that hook up to the air vents

is the console going to have 2 cd receiver size holes, and then a cubby hole where the ash tray was?

I'm still working on that, I know it will have a slot where the ash tray was and a storage area under the arm rest. But there will probably be open area like right infront of the cup holders.

u sould make it have an ash tray then make a blank cover to remover the ash try and replace it with what ever the buyer wishes. makes it more appealing to a larger market

I think you should just leave it flat, theres allready storage above and below. It would be a good place for guage, switches or whatever else. the buyer can just cut out whatever they need or leave it blank

Nice work, way to call a potential buyer an "idiot". Perfect way to pre sell thousands of units, by ridiculing your possible customers.

Idiot.

Mine just sits there with change, receipts and gum wrappers stuffed in it. Actually, the more pockets we have to store stuff, the better. Ya know what I mean?
