How do you display your cars????

Give credit where due!!!!!.....Tanner came up with this idea of showing your car displays...and since I'm looking for ideas...well here it is.
I'm looking for ideas of new displays since I'm thinking about devoting a room just to die cast model cars.....sections for muscle cars, luxury cars, trailers, motorcycles.....etc.
I was thinking about maybe a gallery type of look (like the art museums) with spot lights and everything.
Here is what I have right now as display.

Thanks for your input..I know a lot of us want new ideas!!!!!!

Re: How do you display your cars????

I wish my camera was working now, but I just have a wall of shelves for my cars. I dont have near enough room to do them like you did. BTW yours looks nice.

How much are you willing to spend on display cases? do you want to build it yourself ?

Re: How do you display your cars????

Bows before TYTGS...."I am not worthy, I am not worthy...."

Frigg'in awesome collection man. How long did it take you to build those cases. That's something along the lines what I'd like to build but don't have that much money. I'm working on an around the room Shelving unit right now that goes around the entire room about a 1.5 feet below the ceiling.
Cars will be tilted a little so that you can see them clearly from the floor. I have to put them high as my 1.5 year old is already eyeing them.
I'll post pics when I'm done.

Re: How do you display your cars????

Thanks for the credit, Chevelle Anyways, I guess I am obligated to post in this thread, so here goes:

Homemade shelves hanging above desk, containing 1:18 scale:

Ikea bought shelves, containing 1:18 scale:

Homemade corner shelves, containing 1:24 and a 1:18 1965 GTO Hurst Edition:

Top of my desk close-up, 1:18:

Homemade shelves; level one close-up, 1:18

Homemade shevles, level two close-up, 1:18 LeMans cars

If I have a low number of a certain scale, I will put it here:

Ikea shelves, close-up:

Mind you, these are always changing order and this is just the current way I have them set-up. I Hope my collection wasn't too boring for you guys

About that collection tytgs, there's only one thing I have to say I SEE 10'S... NO 100'S.... NO WAIT...1000'S OF CARS.....ALL IN ONE PLACE
That is unsane....sick...Love it.
You know, I used to work as store planner designing showcases and just about any other kind of fixture you can imagine for stores, so I have a very good idea of what it takes to do something like this display you got.
I want to get ideas from you guys and go from there....make my design and take it to the shop where I used to work and they can built for me but like you say $$$$$$$$ talks.....thanks.

Hey tanner....is that a Baldwin edition Camaro and Chevelles I see in your collection?....I need to get me some of those!!!!....NICE

Hey Hobbes...cool set up.
One question.....for all of you guys.....how long did it take you guys to collect this many cars???????
AWSOME ALL THE WAY!!!!

Re: How do you display your cars????

Chevelle, I'm on my third year of collecting. It's all budget models and others I've brought from other people. Once I add Ebay to the mix it's gonna shoot up a little more...
