Best Compact or hidden sub?

Hi, im wondering if you guys can point me in the right direction. I'm getting a new 2005 odyssey [tears] but i want a subwoofer to give it something good. Basically my family has decided that it must be small and or hidden, but i want strong bass, any suggestions? thanks

ok, what do you mean by family, wife? kids? you could buy a small truck box and put a 10 or 12 in there, but won't be very loud. how about an image dynamics idq or id, they are pretty cheap, and you get excellent quality, and are perfect for small box applications.

there are subwoofer enclosures that replace door panels and hidden compartments. but the woofers that come with them are usually very crappy and the enclosures very flimsy (in otherwords not much for swaping out). basically if yo uwant big bass you need a big enclosure. a Brahma 10 in a small sealed enclosure will give excelent responce. maybe 0.75-1.25cuft. put a nine.1 on it and i think you will be very satisfied. if price is a problem (the brahma 10 is $349) a Shiva 12 would work well or a koda 10 for $229. look at RE and IDMAX as well.

well i'm guessing that you don't wanna spend more than 300$. if so, buy an idq, and a small amp to give it a couple hundred watts. build or buy a small box for it, and that will give you excellent response. now if you are willing to spend more money, the brahma would work good, and image dynamics also has a sub called the IDMAX and that is a great sq sub, cheaper than the brahma and about equal in sq, and you won't need as much power. so more money to spend on a a less powerful better quality amp, maybe a a/b class.

a/b class amps have a tendancy to rape your altinator. the IDMAX needs about the same power as the Brahma and the XXX but wont displace as much air. but its SQ is wonderfull. equal to that of the brahma and XXX. if he only wants to spend 300 for everything. RE and Adire's lower end stuff is good. or look into Digital Design's 1000 and 2500 series.

I would look at a 16kv2. I would see if you can make a box for it or buy yourself A JL stealthbox per your car.
