how to rebuild carb

Hello, I was hoping someone might have some good information on rebuilding a carburator. Should I tackle it myself, have a Pro rebuild it, or replace the carburator.

I have an '87 Caravan 2.2L 4 cyl with a manual tranny. I think it is a two barrel, the Haynes manual I have isn't very clear in identifying which carburator I have. I think it's a Holley, is that a stock carb?
To be honest the last time I touched a carburator was when I was a kid and watched my dad rebuild one.
