350 mods

guys does this sound good. im using the center bolt heads off of my 305
on my 350, also i will use a LT4 hotcam. the engine before already had 307 hp when built by my friend for his z28, will putting my heads on it and throwing in that cam up the hp any higher, or will it complicate things.

Re: 350 mods

only complication i can think of, is depending on the parts used to build the engine before, you might have sky high compression with the swap to 305 heads, and not be able to run pump gas, or any gas for that matter lol.

also the hot cam might have too much lift for those heads to handle without mods, and the flow of the heads might not support the high lift of the cam, and they will not see the added benifit. but im not sure. these are just possiblities.

Re: 350 mods

i may just keep the engine the way it is and drop it in. its a healthy 4,500 mile engine. i may just do headers and a hi flo cat.

you can get away with just under .500 lift with flat top pistons and the stock valve springs on your 305 heads. should be able to use pump gas too

Re: 350 mods

a 350 with 305 heads, flat top pistons, and thick head gaskets will be running around 10.5:1 compression. if you build it right, you can run premium pump gas. but i wouldnt do it.
