Head Unit installation 95 civic DX

we cant get the dash panel off!!! anyone know how?

there was already a head unit in the car when i bought it, its a piece of shit. i dont know about part 2 of that picture ill have to check it out again tommrow. we got that thing off, and couldnt go furthur then that

There should be 2 screws holding it in from underneith. If there aren't then chances are you'll need some things like these: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DVC00086.jpg
You slide one in each side and it unhook the metal case and pop the HU out. When you buy a new HU it should come with a pair of them.

pioneers use those, others probably as well but I think I remember one of my HU's had 4 pins, one for each corner. cant remember for sure though. maybe it was my blaupunkt.

yah, a lot of companies use those keys to pull the HU out of the metal sleeve. My dad didn't know that was how you were supposed to pull it out so he just pulled out the entire trim piece with it when my car got totaled.

i did this last week in my 92' civic....if it deosn't work after its all hooked up and u think u blew a fuse...its not under the dash its under the hood its a 10 i think...u might want to take it out before u start working on it b/c most likely u will blow it like i did and spend 2 hours looking for the fuse under the dash......

you talking about the fuse block uner the hood pass. side behind strut tower? or just a inline one someone could have added cuz I could have sworn last time I blew a fuse in my civic messing with the HU I replaced it in the one at the kick panel.
